The season of the summer blockbuster is officially upon us, and few films have as much anticipation behind them as The Devil Wears Prada 2. The original Devil Wears Prada came out 20 years ago, and in addition to earning Meryl Streep another Oscar nomination to add to her resume, the film also made $326 million at the global box office against a $35 million budget. It was one of the most profitable films of the 2000s, which made it all the more puzzling that a sequel wasn't pursued sooner. However, Miranda Priestly (played by Streep) and Andy Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) are finally set to return this weekend for a new adventure, but fans around the world are already asking if the legacy sequel will live up to the lofty expectations set by the original.
