A good horror movie hooks the viewer nearly from the very beginning. A great one keeps up the tension throughout the runtime. Then there are those that dig their hooks in with the final frame, not by showing a victorious hero and the monster defeated, but with one horrifying shot of evil. In these movies, the protagonist either loses or is left so traumatized that there is nothing to celebrate.
