Miniseries have always appealed to viewers because they offer the reliability long-running TV shows don’t: complete stories with a clear beginning, middle, and end. However, not every exceptional miniseries is the kind of show viewers will eagerly revisit, even when its quality is virtually impossible to deny. Oftentimes, the best limited series are those that make audiences feel uncomfortable in their unflinching commitment to tackling subjects that most would rather avoid.
