While some slasher books have a widespread fanbase, these seven are virtually unheard of, even though they are fantastic. Horror is popular in print, but slasher books are relatively hard to come by. The genre seems to thrive in a visual medium. The books that come out typically become extremely popular because of their scarcity, and many rightfully deserve the praise. Author Stephen Graham Jones is one of the best slasher writers out there, with hits like I Was a Teenage Slasher and My Heart Is a Chainsaw. Similarly, Adam Cesare’s Clown in a Cornfield book is so good it was adapted into a 2025 feature film.
