There's a specific feeling you get watching a stunt and knowing, somewhere in the back of your mind, that a real person actually did that. Not a digital double, or a green screen, but an actual human being hanging off an actual jet or freezing in an actual river. That feeling has mostly disappeared from big blockbusters over the last couple decades, buried under so much CGI that nothing on screen feels real.
