48 Years Later, This Forgotten Blockbuster Sequel Is a Streaming Smash Hit

The king of blockbuster sci-fi finally returned to the genre last month, as Steven Spielbergdebuted Disclosure Dayto an excited global audience. To date, the movie has made more than $219 million worldwide, although this is a far cry from the $583 million of his previous sci-fi effort, Ready Player One. Starring the likes of Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), Josh O’Connor (Challengers), and Colin Firth(The King’s Speech), Disclosure Day earned mixed reviews from audiences and critics, with some underwhelmed by a lack of sci-fi vision and others impressed particularly by Blunt's lead performance.
