Though it was released in April, and therefore, there are eight months for another movie to take its place, it already feels safe to crown Sinners as the best horror movie of 2025. It takes things about the vampire sub-genre that feel familiar, yet reworks those conventions and ideas in interesting ways, remixing and doing its own thing with bits and pieces from older movies in a similar vein to 2024’s The Substance.
