Many studios have tried to copy the formula created by Telltale Games, and few have succeeded. In fact, talking just financial success, even Telltale didn’t succeed, as the company went bust in 2018. It’s possible that their formula (splitting games into five or six episodes, each concentrating on narrative while lacking combat and lacking any of the mechanical loops that many gamers consider “gameplay”) isn’t a great model for making money.
