British actor Andy Serkis has made a name for himself by becoming completely unrecognizable as non-human characters with the groundbreaking use of motion capture, from Gollum inLord of the Rings to Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars. His work is often critically acclaimed, whether he's appearing in motion capture or in a more traditional role, and this earned him a few awards throughout his career. He will once again play Gollum in an upcoming Lord of the Rings movie, which he's also set to direct. It's no surprise that his work in performance capture led him to launch his own visual-effects studio, The Imaginarium.
