The Edmonton Oilers made a goalie change in hopes of sparking a comeback in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final.
Starting netminder Stuart Skinner was pulled after a dreadful first period for the visitors that saw them go down 3-0 to the Florida Panthers on Thursday. Skinner stopped 14 of the 17 shots he faced before getting the hook.
Skinner was far from the Oilers’ only problem in the opening 20 minutes, as Edmonton was sent to the penalty box three times, leading to two Florida power-play goals.
Skinner was replaced in net by Calvin Pickard.

It’s the second straight game Pickard has come in to relieve Skinner, who was pulled late in Game 3 after allowing five goals in a 6-1 drubbing.
Coming into Thursday’s Game 4, Skinner had allowed 13 goals on 97 shots in the Final, with an .866 save percentage.
Pickard enters Game 4 with a 2.87 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage in eight appearances this post-season.
